LOUISVILLE, KY — Today, several U.S. Senators endorsed Charles Booker, Kentucky’s Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate. As Kentuckians head to the polls to choose who will replace Mitch McConnell in the U.S. Senate, these endorsements add to the growing list of well-respected leaders backing Booker in the closely contested race.
U.S. Senators endorsing Charles Booker include:
- Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA)
- Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO)
- Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ)
- Sen. Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-DE)
- Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD)
- Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA)
Major political figures across the country have lined up to back Charles Booker for U.S. Senate. Booker has received endorsements from several current and former governors, including Gov. JB Pritzker (D-IL), Gov. Wes Moore (D-MD), Gov. Andy Beshear (D-KY), former Kentucky Governors Steve Beshear and Paul Patton. Other major political figures backing Booker include Rep. Morgan McGarvey (D-KY), Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL), and former Rep. John Yarmuth (D-KY).
"I’m proud to endorse Charles Booker because he’s a fighter who will do what it takes in the Senate to level the playing field for working families,” said Sen. Warren. “He knows first hand that the system is rigged against working people and he’s not afraid to stand up to the billionaires and special interests responsible.”
“Charles knows that working hard should mean being able to afford your bills and get the healthcare you need and build a future for your family,” said Sen. Mark Kelly. “He’s running to bring those priorities to the Senate and make government work for people, not just those with the most money and influence. That’s the kind of mission worth fighting for.”
“No parent should have to tell their children to put food back at the grocery store because they couldn’t afford it and everyone should have access to quality healthcare,” said Sen. Blunt Rochester. “I’ve spent my career fighting for working people and I see that same commitment in Charles Booker. Kentucky has an opportunity to elect a leader who will fight to lower costs, create good paying jobs, and make government work for everyday people. I’m proud to support Charles, and I hope Kentucky makes the right choice this November 3rd.”
“Across the country, hardworking families are feeling the pressure of rising housing, healthcare, grocery, and energy costs,” said Sen. Michael Bennet. “Washington must focus on solving these challenges and creating opportunities for the next generation. Charles Booker will bring Kentucky’s concerns to the Senate, champion working people, invest in communities, and demand accountability in government. That’s why I’m proud to support Charles Booker for the U.S. Senate.”
“Charles Booker has shown the courage to speak truth to power and stand up for working people,” said Sen. Van Hollen. “Kentucky deserves a senator who will fight to lower costs for American families, and who will make sure that government puts people, not big corporations, first. Charles has the values and the commitment to make sure working Kentuckians are heard in Washington. That’s why I’m proud to endorse Charles Booker for the United States Senate."
“As a pastor in the Senate, I’ve spent my life walking alongside people who work hard, do everything right, and still struggle to get ahead,” said Sen. Warnock. “They deserve leaders who hear them, stand up for them, and never forget who they work for. This year, Kentucky has a historic opportunity to turn the page and choose a new kind of leadership. I believe Charles Booker has the heart, courage, and conviction to bring the voices of working families back to Washington. I’m proud to support Charles Booker and I hope Kentuckians seize this opportunity and send Charles to the United States Senate.”
“We are on the verge of not only winning this Senate seat for the people of Kentucky, but to finally deliver on an agenda that puts common sense over corruption,” said Charles Booker. “I am thankful for the vote of confidence and endorsement from some of our finest Senators, who work every day for the people of their states and for our country. If given the opportunity, I look forward to serving alongside them as we work to lower costs, root out corruption, and put people over politics. Now is our moment. Let’s get out the vote, Kentucky.”
