Charles Booker for U.S. Senate

LOUISVILLE, KY — With less than one week until Kentucky voters decide who will replace Mitch McConnell in the U.S. Senate, Kentucky governors past and present are joining forces to back Charles Booker for Kentucky’s open U.S. Senate seat. Current Gov. Andy Beshear was joined by former Governors Steve Beshear and Paul Patton in throwing their collective support behind Booker’s candidacy.

“With Mitch McConnell leaving the Senate after forty years, Kentucky has an opportunity to choose a new direction,” said Gov. Andy Beshear. “Charles Booker will fight to end the tariffs that drive up the costs for Kentucky families and businesses. He’ll stop endless wars that drain our resources, and make sure Washington puts Kentucky first. Here in Kentucky, we know what it means to work hard, look out for our neighbors, and do right by our families. But working hard ought to mean you can get ahead, not just get by. Charles shares that sentiment and understands the importance of representing Kentucky. He’ll fight to lower the cost of groceries and gas, protect healthcare, and make sure our rural communities and small businesses have the opportunity to thrive.”

Steve Beshear. “I’ve observed him out in the community and am continually impressed by his ability to truly connect and empathize with all kinds of Kentuckians and the problems they’re facing. Change is long overdue in Kentucky. I am confident that Charles Booker is that change. Just as he has in past roles in public service, he will accept the responsibility with grace and determination, while working tirelessly to identify and implement the solutions Kentucky needs.”

In addition to the endorsements of Gov. Andy Beshear, Gov. Steve Beshear, and Gov. Paul Patton, Booker received endorsements from Gov. JB Pritzker (D-IL) and Gov. Wes Moore (D-MD) this week, as leaders from Kentucky and across the country throw their weight behind Booker’s campaign to replace Mitch McConnell and retire Andy Barr, with a strong message of common sense over corruption and lifting up an agenda that will put Kentucky first.
