Governor JB Pritzker Endorses Charles Booker for U.S. Senate
LOUISVILLE, KY — With just one week until Kentucky chooses their next U.S. Senator, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has endorsed Charles Booker to replace Mitch McConnell. Governor Pritzker is a major national political figure and a Democratic Party leader, and he understands the race’s significance, something Kentucky and the rest of the nation have increasingly recognized.
“Charles Booker will be replacing Mitch McConnell and Kentucky will finally have a Senator who fights for them in Washington,” said Gov. JB Pritzker. “With so much at stake for working families, Charles will bring common sense leadership to the Senate, take on corruption, and always put you first. Only one candidate has the courage, strength, and convictions to meet the moment and that’s why I am proud to support Charles Booker for the U.S. Senate.”
As Illinois’s 43rd Governor, JB Pritzker has worked tirelessly to deliver for his state. Gov. Pritzker has made the people of Illinois the centerpiece of his time in office. Under his leadership in Springfield, he has raised wages, attracted significant investments into Illinois, creating thousands of new, good paying jobs. His work with the Illinois General Assembly helped balance the state’s budget, while still delivering critical and much-needed investments in state infrastructure.
“I am thankful for Gov. Pritzker’s support in this race, and I’m glad he’s keeping an eye on his neighbors to the south, the people of Kentucky,” said Charles Booker. “From those Western Kentucky counties bordering Illinois, clear across to Eastern Kentucky, I am hearing from Kentuckians, Democrats, Republicans, and Independents alike, that they are ready for a leader in the Senate who will put Kentucky First. We are going to Washington to deliver for Kentucky families. We will put common sense over corruption, lower prices at the gas station and grocery store, and bring decency and integrity back to Washington.”
