ICYMI: CHARLES BOOKER PUBLISHES PAIR OF OP-EDS, REACHING NATIONAL AND STATEWIDE AUDIENCES

LOUISVILLE, KY — Democratic nominee Charles Booker marked his growing momentum in Kentucky’s U.S. Senate race with a pair of op-eds reaching both national and statewide audiences.

On Monday, The Courier-Journal, one of the top newspapers in Kentucky, published Booker's thoughts on how he plans to put Kentucky First. Tailored directly to local voters, he overviewed the corruption from Mitch McConnell and others that have dominated Kentucky politics for far too long and presented himself as the obvious choice for change. “It’s time for something different, because change can no longer wait for tomorrow. Let’s roll up our sleeves and get this done. Let’s finally put Kentucky first,” Booker wrote.

On Tuesday, Newsweek published a second op-ed. Here, Booker took a wide-lens view at McConnell’s legacy. Having been only two weeks old when McConnell was first elected, he witnessed firsthand the Senator’s shift away from fighting for Kentucky and turn toward corruption. He took things further to explain how opponent Andy Barr is running the same late-era playbook and, once again, presented himself as the clear choice for those looking for something better.

This pair of articles comes on the heels of a clear victory in Monday’s debate against Barr, the only debate of the campaign, and the launch of “Republicans for Booker,” a grassroots initiative of self-identified Republicans ready for change.

For the remaining 13 days of the campaign, Booker will continue his Kentucky Over Politics tour across the state, meeting Kentuckians where they are and making the case for why, on November 3rd, they should vote to put Kentucky First.
