COMMUNITY SAFETY: Keeping Kentucky Communities Safe

My cousin TJ was shot and killed on Easter Sunday 2016. That grief, pain, and anguish never leave. I carry TJ’s dog tags wherever I go as a reminder that every Kentuckian deserves to feel safe in the community they call home, at school, at work, and in their neighborhood.

We can do this by ensuring our first responders can respond to the conditions, including mental health crisis response teams. We have to protect our fellow Kentuckians from discrimination and harassment no matter who they love. We must fight the flow of drugs like Fentanyl into our communities, while expanding treatment and recovery in every community across Kentucky. And we need to help our fellow Kentuckians returning home from incarceration.
