Position summary

The Booker for the Commonwealth campaign is currently seeking a Press Intern to help elect Kentucky Democratic nominee Charles Booker to the U.S. Senate. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, interested in political communications, and excited to work in a fast-paced environment.

The Press Intern will work under the campaign's Press Secretary and the rest of the communications team on a range of day-to-day press operations.

Responsibilities

  • Creating and maintaining press lists and media contacts.
  • Conducting daily media monitoring and tracking relevant coverage.
  • Supporting the drafting of press statements, social media copy, talking points, and other written materials.
  • Assisting with press outreach and other communications projects as needed.

Schedule and location

Candidates should have availability to work at least 15 hours per week, with scheduling flexibility to accommodate classes and other extracurricular commitments. Proximity to Louisville is preferred, but not required.

This internship is unpaid, but supervisors will be able to provide sign-offs for class credit or volunteer hours.
